Belogna ikons was designed, built and equipped based on the upbringing, the life experiences, and the dreams of people who got to know the traditional Naxos and followed the island’s course in the last 5 decades. Their main ambition is to circumvent the frivolous attitude and the voluntarily or involuntarily unawareness of tradition that leads to architectural tasteless or to incompatibility with the surrounding natural environment. Belogna ikons is meant for those who are familiar to the authentic Cyclades, especially Naxos, and for those who pursue to discover that authenticity. The location was not picked arbitrarily; the complex is built next to the Tower of Belogna, a landmark of Naxos, a symbol of tradition and an emblem of savor. Belogna ikons, bowing to the magnitude of the Tower, dares the comparison seeking to fit next to the Tower without offending it. Belogna ikons allows you to gaze at Naxos and its capital, without depriving you from the proximity to the water – large swimming pool instead of personal bath tab-type pools, easy access to the beaches – and a comfortable accommodation.
The creation of Belogna ikons is the fulfillment of an idea suggesting that if a building complex is in harmony with the dynamics of the natural environment it resides on, then it offers its inhabitants peace, comfort, discreet luxury, a bonding with nature and an enjoyable stay at a hospitable setting.
The villas of Belogna ikons are different among themselves, since the houses of traditional Cycladic settlements were also different among themselves. They are built on slope, in order for every villa to have its private external space, including the parking area, and unobstructed view to the Aegean Sea. From each veranda, one can see clearly Paros, Mykonos and Syros and feel the infinite blue of the sea.
Residences
All residences are oriented in a manner that allows them to stay cool during the warm summer months and to maintain a stable warm temperature during the cool winter months. Local craftsmen worked meticulously for 7 years to complete their construction, using Naxos’ traditional natural ingredients, such as marble, stone, wood and iron. All floors are made from locally excavated marble, mainly white, the roofs and the windows/doors are made of timber, the hinges, the locking bolts and the locks are handmade of iron, and all furniture are crafted with natural wood. Internal spaces combine comfort with discreet luxury and minimalism.
All villas provide the luxury for those who seek hassle-free and relaxed vacation, aiming at total serenity. They are located 4 kms (2.5 miles) from the capital (port) of Naxos (5-6 minutes drive) at a nodal point of the island’s main road arteries. The famous west beaches (Agia Anna, Agios Prokopios, Plaka, Vigla, Kastraki, Pirgaki) are easily accessible, at a distance that does not exceed 4 kms. Moreover, the main road that leads to Naxos’ villages is only a few meters away from the complex’s entrance. For ancient sites enthusiasts, Belogna ikons is located very close to the Tower of Belogna, to Yria (Glinado) and to the temple of Dimitra (Sagri). For those who enjoy short walks, there are pebble trails inside the complex. Owners have paid extra attention to the interior of every villa, so it feels like home, as well as to the surrounding area, so that the complex resembles a Cycladic village, respecting, though, the privacy of all guests. The living room with its fireplace and its comfortable sofa, the dining table, the kitchen with all its equipment, the bedrooms with their inspiring view to the Aegean Sea, the hand built showers and wardrobes, the limestone benches, the traditional chimneys, the reception area, the main square and many more small details make Belogna ikons unique.
